Quick Draw Badge

The Quick Draw badge is new for NBA 2K20 and quickens your jump shot’s release. And the higher the level of the badge, the quicker the jumpshot will be. It is in the Shooting category of badges.

This badge is the most important shooting badge in 2K20, as all jumpshots are purposely slow this year. Every build looking to shoot should have the badge, but which level depends on your personal preference.

Here’s a video further breaking down the badge:

Pick & Popper Badge

The Pick & Popper badge is back for NBA 2K20 and boosts shot attempts that come after setting a screen if the shot happens far enough from the rim and within a few seconds after the screen has been set.

The Pick & Popper is super effective if used correctly and often, so definitely equip this badge if you’re a shooter planning on Picking and Popping often in the Park or Pro-Am.

Hot Zone Hunter Badge

The Hot Zone Hunter badge is back for NBA 2K22 next-gen and current gen, and boosts shots that are taken in a player’s hot zone(s). HZH is in the shooting category of badges.

To unlock HZH for your MyPlayer on next-gen:

  • Bronze: 57 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Silver: 71 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Gold: 83 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Hall of Fame: 97 Mid Range or 3pt

Recommendation: Hot Zone Hunter is one of the best shooting badges on both consoles, as you get a huge boost to shots taken with your player’s hot zones.

Hot Start Badge

The Hot Start badge is new for NBA 2K20 and boosts shooting attributes for every made shot from the beginning of the game (or the beginning of each quarter for 5v5 modes) until the first missed shot. You must make your first shot of the game to activate the badge.

Hot Start is an extremely solid badge for shooters in the Park, especially 2v2 players. It’s pretty much useless outside of the Park, but it helps your player get going early in the Playground.

Recommendation: We only recommend this badge for featured scorers in the Park, but it has little value outside of that. If you’re not the featured scorer we recommend using other shooting badges.

Green Machine Badge

The Green Machine badge is back for NBA 2K22 and gives an additional shot boost when consecutively achieving excellent releases on jump shots. It is in the Shooting category of badges.

To unlock Green Machine on next-gen MyPlayer:

  • Bronze: 58 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Silver: 73 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Gold: 86 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Hall of Fame: 97 Mid Range or 3pt

Recommendation: We recommend Hall of Fame Green Machine for Shooters that have practiced their jumpshot and already green a lot of shots. Otherwise, your badge points can be spent better elsewhere.

Deep Fades Badge

The Deep Fades badge is new for NBA 2K20 and reduces the distance penalty on post fadeaways taken far from the basket. It is in the Shooting category of badges.

This badge is super effective for Post Scorers shooting Fadeaways all over the court, and can even be a bail out for shooters late in the shot clock.

Recommendation: We only recommend Deep Fades for Post Scorers, as its effectiveness has little benefit outside of that demographic. Maxing out Deep Fades is necessary for Post Scorers.

Corner Specialist Badge

Corner Specialist is back for NBA 2K22 and boosts deep mid-range or 3pt shots taken along the baseline of the court. It works on both off the dribble and off the catch corner shots.

To unlock Corner Specialist on your next-gen MyPlayer:

  • Bronze: 55 3pt
  • Silver: 68 3pt
  • Gold: 78 3pt
  • Hall of Fame: 87 3pt

Recommendation: This badge is required for corner spot-ups, but is also a good badge to have for players who fade from the baseline. This badge is really good at its function.

Clutch Shooter Badge

Clutch Shooter is a rework of the Clutch Performer badge of the past few years, and gives a large boost to shot attempts that occur during late-game moments, such as game point in the Park and the 4th Quarter in Rec/MyCareer.

To unlock Clutch Shooter on next-gen:

  • Bronze: 49 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Silver: 59 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Gold: 67 Mid Range or 3pt
  • Hall of Fame: 74 Mid Range or 3pt

Recommendation: This badge is unnecessary for most players, but can be overpowered in the right situations. A lot of competitive players use it to boost their late-game performances on the offensive end.

Catch and Shoot Badge

The Catch and Shoot badge is back for NBA 2K22 and gives a significant boost to the receiver’s outside shooting attributes for a short time after receiving a pass. It is in the Shooting category of badges.

To unlock C&S for your next-gen MyPlayer:

  • Bronze: 66 3pt
  • Silver: 77 3pt
  • Gold: 84 3pt
  • Hall of Fame: 92 3pt

Recommendation: Any off-ball builds should max out Catch and Shoot, as its effect is great enough for three or four badge points. It’s truly one of the best shooting badges in the game.

Flexible Release Badge

The Flexible Release badge is new for NBA 2K20 and reduces the shot timing penalties for jump shots, making it easier to knock down attempts even when releasing early or late.

According to NBA 2K Lab, this badge gives a sizable boosts to all shots outside the green window, with greater boosts given to shots far outside the green window. However, its full strength is revealed at the Hall of Fame level.

Shooter with bad timing or bad internet should max this badge out, while shooters who hover around the green window on most of their shots will find this badge useless.
